Mike Allen
Vocal Part: Second Tenor
Mike Allen grew up in Newburgh, Indiana, having spent 25 years as a Hoosier before moving to the Volunteer state in 2005. A graduate of Purdue University in West Lafayette, IN, and a former Hall of Fame member of the world renowned Purdue Varsity Glee Club, Allen has a bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications with a minor in Management. During his time at Purdue he also started an a cappella group called Vox5 that sang for university dinners and private events. In 2007, Mike and two others from Vox5 placed in the top 5 in the nation for the Oreo Jingle Contest, earning a trip to New York City to compete for the top prize. After having spent a few years working in the radio industry as an on-air personality, commercial writer, and musician, Allen pursued his love of education to acquire his teaching degree, also from Purdue University. In addition to teaching history and economics, Allen also works with Young Life, a high school outreach ministry. He is proud to be a resident of Fairview, TN, along with his wife, Kim, and son, Isaac.
